BIOGRAPHY
He studied artistic ceramics and pottery at the Talavera de la Reina School of Art and previously a Bachelor of Product Design at the Metropolitan Autonomous University of Mexico City along with a postgraduate degree on Talavera ceramics in Mexico and Spain.
I spent four months of professional internships with Ana Sobral in Foz do Arelho in Portugal where I learned about the productive and creative process of signature ceramics. At the end of my studies I have the opportunity to participate in the ATEMPORA exhibition in Talavera de la Reina commemorating the 6,000 years of Ceramics in Castilla la Mancha. It is in this way that I motivate myself to set up a ceramic workshop.
I make utilitarian and decorative pieces, my work is based on the use of the lathe and manual techniques as execution tools, the search for different forms in conjunction with high temperature glazes on stoneware pastes. The plasticity of clay directs each shape and design, establishing a pattern, color and texture that add to the finished object.
The processes involved in my craft and the ideas and discoveries that I find along the way are the result of research, experiences, successes and failures. Every day in the workshop is an adventure as we seek to create designs that meet current needs and convey different sensations through ceramic art.
